Run 9.16.07

Yesterday morning N. and I went for a run with our friends J. and D.. J. and N. are about the same pace, and D. and I are about the same, so it worked out nicely. It was a really nice day, especially in the morning. We met at around 9 am and left for a quick run on Mission Bay: once again, my favorite body of water for running. D. and I were only going 5 miles, but considering that I’ve been off for so long and only have run 3 or 4 miles at a time recently, it felt like a good accomplishment.

Lap Distance (miles) Time Pace (min/mile) HR (bpm)
1 1.00 09:39.99 09:40
2 1.00 09:16.14 09:16
3 1.00 09:58.49 09:58
4 1.00 09:30.98 09:31
5 1.00 09:14.52 09:15
6 0.49 04:24.95 08:50
Totals 5.50 0:52:04 09:32

These are approximate times and paces for the last lap and totals, since we stopped at 5 miles then ran in the last half mile with N. and J. when they caught up with us (they ran 8 miles).

After getting home from the run, we went to the Padres game against San Francisco and watched Jake Peavy prove why he should be the easy favorite for the National League Cy Young. After the game, we met up with friends U. and L. for a night on the town for dinner at the Indigo Grill and jazz at Anthology. A long, full day that is typical of why I love living in Southern California. More on the dinner and jazz later.
